Porcelain Veneers vs Teeth Whitening: Which Is Right for You?
Teeth whitening and porcelain veneers get compared constantly, but they're not really competing for the same job.
Whitening is the right call when your teeth are structurally fine and the only thing standing between you and the smile you want is colour: staining from coffee, tea, red wine, or just time. Our in-chair whitening can lift shade by up to eight shades in a single session, and it's reversible in the sense that it simply fades gradually over time rather than requiring any commitment to a new tooth structure.
Veneers solve a different problem entirely: shape, spacing, chips, and alignment issues that whitening can't touch. If your concern is a gap, a chipped edge, or teeth that are uneven in size or shape, veneers correct the structure itself, not just the colour sitting on top of it. They're a bigger commitment (a genuine dental procedure, not a treatment you repeat every few months) but the results last 10 to 15 years with proper care.
The honest answer for most people is: start with a consultation, not a decision. We'll tell you plainly if whitening alone gets you where you want to go. We'd rather you spend less than recommend more than you need.
